The demon 'indifference'

Not cliche.  Simple truth.  My truth.  Today.  In the past, and with relatively few exceptions to the rule.  A silent killer of feelings and relationships, indifference is a strong and destructive force that cuts its way through people, lives, hopes, dreams... everything.  The bleeding never stops once the wound is made, and those who inflict do so like children in the throes of silent tantrums.  The brand of indifference matters, though, and while both are hurtful and destructive to those on the receiving end, there is that one special type that has deep and long-lasting negative effects.  Forged, created, and offered by the narcissist, indifference isn't what it appears to be.

People can slip into indifference for many reasons, but most don't stay there and work hard to right the wrong they've inflicted, even unknowingly.  But at the hands of a narcissist.. indifference takes on an entirely new destructive path, and it's destructive nature doesn't lay in the hands and minds and hearts of those who have simply flipped to auto-pilot (though that can quickly kill a relationship) but rather in those who are making great and calculated effort in a passive aggressive voluntary act to hurt, belittle, and in so many other ways harm the ones they do this to.

Now here's the clincher... the best weapon you have against a narcissist.. is indifference.  Give them indifference, because they don't deserve your emotions.
